Tonight was our 12th show, 3rd under syndication on CBS Radio, and The Comedy Point really beginning to take form. Our show has a unique dynamic and perfect blend of personalities, which came together unintentionally. Rich Riviera, a 47 year old never married cynical man, was always my co-host, but Eric Miller a 23 year old recent college graduate, was a replacement of a former member of a our team. Meg from MTV’s, “Diddy’s: Making His Band,” was a fun guest and got a punch of laughs from those in studio. Her latest video is included in this post, so be sure to check it out.

Grandma from Grandma’s Corner is quickly becoming a star with her unexpected quick witted answers and loving remarks. Again, Grandma was never planned as a segment from the beginning, but simply something that has evolved from her wanting to call in every week. She told my Aunt Amy and Uncle Donnie that she, “Likes being on the radio!” Well it worked out perfectly because our listeners enjoyed her phone calls, so it was a no brainer: the creation of Grandma’s Corner!

Mad Dog Mattern calling in from outside a graveyard across the street from the American Stock Exchange, in downtown Manhattan, was probably the last place I expected him to be calling from. Even though, he had stated the two previous weeks that he might be heading there, but didn’t make it in time for his segment. “Dog in The Park,” again came about through Mad Dog calling in from a new location every week and various parks the first few weeks.

At the expense of sounding redundant, but it seems like the best segments of The Comedy Point are the ones that weren’t intentional or haven’t been planned. But I’m not afraid to admit that, things have naturally progressed and happened for a reason. That being said, we do have two very talented writers who have helped contribute to the show: Burak Uzun and Brandon Fischer. Their contributions have helped highlight The Comedy Point’s strengths while creating intriguing topics.

The Comedy Point would like to thank comedian Yannis Pappas for coming on this week, along with in studio guest singer Meg from “Diddy’s Making His Band.” Questions or Comments about the show?
