Why is the media so stuck Lindsey Vonn? They were hyping her up before the Winter Olympics began, before ever race and still now after what should be considered, in their view, a disappointing outcome at best, they’re trying to tag her as the golden girl of the Olympics. Why you may ask, because, the media, sponsors and advertisers are looking to find gold of their own from the Olympic Games. That gold being in the form of a face or spokesman, or in this case a spokeswoman, to sell their products. And they know the only thing that sells better than success is sex or even better success.
Michael Phelps won gold in every event he competed in during the summer games. He got a couple of endorsements and disappeared. Why you may ask? No, not because he got could smoking pot. America is a forgiving culture as long has you play the bullshit game of apology, rehab (whether you actually need it or not) and then acknowledging your wrong doings and announcing you’re a changed person. No, Michael was out way before he got could smoking a little weed.

The reason Michael Phelps didn’t hit the bonanza of endorsement deals is because he’s a dorky looking horse faced, weird teeth having dope with a not so winning personality. (No offense Mike) Lindsey on the other hand is a hot blonde with girl next store looks and personality. Whatever that means. She was already doing photo shots in bikinis. Everyone who could have made money off her was banking on her to win big. They already had the ball rolling when Lindsey messed it all up by only winning 2 medals, one gold and one bronze. They’re still trying to save their investment by touting her has the girl who didn’t give up through all her adversities. We are to believe that she was the best female skier in the Olympics but, the injuries over her career ( damaged knee, bruised shin, severed thumb and must recently broken pinky) were the only reason she didn’t come away with more medals. If I’m not mistaken she got all those injuries because she keeps falling down while she was skiing. Now, I might be wrong but, shouldn’t the best skier fall down the least. Isn’t that why the other women won, because they didn’t fall down while racing. If you’re going to site that as the reason she didn’t win more medals, then I should be considered a medal hopeful. Because if I could ski faster without falling down, then I could win the gold. As a matter of fact, if I didn’t strike out so much on a 90mph fastball or wicket curve, I could be a professional Baseball player. If I could dribble without having the ball stolen from me, could shot a lot more accurately and jump high enough to dunk a basketball, I could play in the NBA.
The fact is she wasn’t the best skier in the Olympics, not even close. She won two medals which is more than 99.9999% of the world population can say. Lindley herself said she was satisfied and happy with what she had accomplished and she should be. She also said that “Everybody had a lot of expectations of me and you just have to stay realistic.” Bravo to her and shame on the leaches out there who’s only true interest in her success was to further their own interests. Don’t feel sorry for Lindsey, Playboy will still give her a million bucks to pose for the cover. Michael Phelps could win another 8 gold medals and not get that offer.
