The year has gotten off to a very rapid start making it hard to imagine we are already into March and the eve of our 9th show of 2010. In 2010, The Comedy Point has set out to produce 50 shows with 50 guests from 50 states and 13 states have already been covered thus far. As a result, we were ranked #1 on WTBQ 99.1 FM, as “The Most Listened to Show for online Listeners in the month of January!” Without our loyal fan base this would not be possible. Each week the fan mail, comments, messages, and people in the chat room increases, which is a testament to the strength and consistency of our shows week to week.

Recently, Soul Joel Production’s Virtual Office Manger Barbara Sanchez, was helping me with the “Best of The Comedy Point,” and made a comment of how far the show has progressed since the first show on September 1st 2009. Radio is much different than stand up comedy, in a sense that you do not have the immediate crowd reaction and does not offer the instant feedback, be it positive or negative. Regardless, it is nice for someone to notice our hard work and improvement.

Our guests thus far in 2010 have been a great asset to the show, for the most part, and have all added diversity to our program. “The Comedy Point” was named, so that we could provide a wide range of varied opinions on any given topic. From Eric Miller the producer to Grandma, we have the demographics of young and elderly alike. Rich Shultis has even become the character on our show that everyone loves to hate, as he has made it known that, “No girl knows more about sports or any other subject for that matter than he does!” Well if any lady out there wants to challenge Rich, please email the show at thecomedypoint@gmail.com and we will schedule the battle in the weeks to come.

Since the start of 2010, we have had an increased in random phone calls from our fans, which is a very exciting feeling. People that are just tuning in and want to let us know they are listening and how much they enjoy the show. Even Willie, Soul Joel Productions #1 fan, has become a regular caller. All I have to say is Tune in March 2nd, for a special game with Willie at 6:55pm. It’s a MUST Listen to segment.

Last but not least, Maddog Mattern!!!’s segment “Dog in The Park,” has become a fan favorite on The Comedy Point. After the TCP show in Middletown NY at The Holiday Inn, Veronica and Barbara came up to me after the show wanting to speak with Maddog. A few weeks prior, they had both listened to “Dog In The Park,” and wanted to find out if Maddog had found a girlfriend yet. The saga continues and the listeners want to know what’s going on in Maddog’s life. As the host of the show, this was a very special moment in the history of the show, to know that we have fans that are closely following the show to specifically wonder about a particular aspect one of our crew.

The Comedy Point is one of the fastest growing radio shows, not only with our online listeners, AM and FM radio fans, but also on our iTunes podcast. All three have steadily increased in 2010. Again, we would like to thank all of our loyal fans without all of you, the show would not be possible. Tune in March 2nd for an action packed show!
