End of Season 2

Last week June 29th, co-host Rich Shultis and I broadcasted from The Sheraton in Atlantic City to conclude Season 2 of The Comedy Point. The show was our 2nd consecutive show on location away from the radio station, following our 1st ever live show at The Veranda from the 3rd Annual Staten Island Comedy Festival. Live shows have a much different dynamic, since we do not have the capability to take callers and we are a call based talk program.

While the show is going on, Rich and I, for the most part can tell if the show is going well and certainly helps when we are having fun. The Veranda at Silver Lake Golf Course was our first test, a change in our normal programming and format, where we were unable to accept or place any phone calls. Even Silver Lake vs. The Sheraton had different dynamics. At The Veranda, it was party atmosphere, as it was part of the festival. But more importantly, all of ou super fans and many of our regular guests came by to support.

The Sheraton was just Rich and myself with the hotel staff surrounding us and various people walking by, not believing we were on the radio. In fact, a few people asked if were the hidden cameras were and confirmed that we were really from the radio and not MTV. Season 1 consisted of the first 18 shows of The Comedy Point in September 1st until the end of 2009, which was a natural ending with the calendar year. Burak Uzun, head writer of The Comedy Point, and I decided to break 2010 into 2 seasons, both consisting of 26 shows.
Ironically to kick off Season 3, Rich will not be in studio, but will be filled in by good friend of the show Matt Scarpelli. Our in studio guest will be Chris Russell and both Grandma and Maddog will return from their 3 week hiatus to their regular time slots in the 2nd hour.
