From time to time, I speak to people who fully don’t understand what I do for a living. Some tend to think I only perform and ask what I do during the daytime since comedy shows are at night? My main focus is on Soul Joel Productions, where I’ve had over 250 different comedians perform, over the past 3 years. My business partner Scott Chamberlin and I organize comedy shows for all occasions including: charity events, sports teams, schools, private events, corporate events, colleges and comedy for the heck of it. In many ways we are event planners, specializing in comedy.
Soul Joel Productions has helped countless organizations raise money to meet or exceed their goals. Comedy is a perfect solution for putting together an event. On the flip side, my company is creating work and opportunities for others. How? Well, we create shows and work for 3 comedians that are on the show, in addition to the venue that hosts the show. This is valuable in today’s economy to generate business for all parties involved. It’s a win win!
There is plenty of work that goes into every show, but it never seems like work since I am very passionate about show business. But putting together a successful show takes many hours of preparation, which keeps me busy during the day, while attending the shows at night. If I’m not sleeping or working out, I’m working.
Many of people attended, supported or heard about the 3rd Annual Staten Island Comedy Festival. This was not only a great thing for Soul Joel Productions and all of the comedians, but all of the 7 venues and community of Staten Island. http://www.StatenIslandComedyFestival.com
