Hola 我的人 (Wǒ de rén) My people in Chinese. How y’all doing!! This week we are going to get a little crazy and I’m going to talk about a product that most people consider dangerous when consumed in excess. That’s right my crazies this week we are talking the Pros of Beer!!
No need to go into the cons because we all know them. Just ask my Mom, if it wasn’t for a Bud light who knows if Id even be here. What ya gonna do. Anyway Mi gente Beer, drank in moderation, is a great source of vitamins and minerals!! That’s why when you take a peep after a night of drinking your pee is as clear as Soul Joel’s smooth olive skin. (ladies he’s available).
Studies have revealed that beer can produce the same benefits as drinking wine. Whether you prefer ales, lagers, stout, bitter or wheat beers, studies show that one drink a day for women or up to two drinks a day for men will reduce your chances of strokes, heart attacks and other vascular diseases. Beer also contains vitamin B6, which prevents the build-up of amino acid called homocysteine that has been linked to heart disease. Those of us who have high levels of homocysteine are usually more prone to an early onset of heart and vascular disease.
A new study performed at the TNO Nutrition and Food Research Institute in Utrecht indicates that those who drink beer had no increase in their homocysteine level but those who drank wine or liquor had an increase of up to 10%. Also noted was the fact that those who drank beer experienced a 30% increase in vitamin B6 in their blood plasma, thereby proving that beer (in moderation) is actually healthier to drink than wine and other liquor? So Beer isn’t as bad as we think! An average beer has no cholesterol, about 25 g of sodium, protein, potassium, calcium, and phosphorus. Holy Heineken. Now look of course we all know don’t drink and drive or drink heavy before a big day. I get it, we all get it.
But alls I’m saying is that Beer van be nutritious. You can use it in marinades, to replace broths soups, in batters for fried foods, and as a cooking based liquid for steamed foods. At the 2009 Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany they even had fried beer balls. Talk about weird? I’m all about diversity. As long as you’re over 21, I say go for a beer, heck maybe even two. But no more mi gente or next thing ya know you’ll be barfing up a storm watching cartoons on a Sunday morning. Now Cartoons are okay, but bark is no bueno. I actually still cry when I throw up. No lie. FYI I love Miley Cyrus. Who legally isn’t allowed to drink beer, but probably does because her Dad sang Achy Breaky heart, ironically the first time I ever barfed after hearing a song. Until next time Meine Famile (my people in German! I’m getting Bilingual yo!) Peace!!
