Saturday morning I stopped by my local Dunkin Donuts before heading out to have lunch with Santa and my family. Needing a large coffee, I opted to get a doughnut and blueberry muffin. Neither of which I needed, but I was starving.
While driving in the car, I noticed how significantly smaller the Boston Creme doughnut seemed to be compared to what I remembered. Not that it had been that long since I last indulged, but for whatever reason the difference was noticeable. Maybe it was because I was so hungry. In any event, I enjoyed the tasty treat and continued on my drive.
Later that night, while enjoying a family tradition of watching National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase, my sister Laura sat down with a treat of her own: a Klondike Bar! Her immediate reaction was to note to the rest of the family the reduction in size of the bar. Turns out, I wasn’t crazy! I quickly shared my earlier Dunkin Donut story.
If I would have shared the story without Laura, I would have appeared crazy and far fetched. In fact without her story, I would have probably never even brought mine up. It’s for the best, I don’t need the, “full size,” anyway. Yet again, food is what brings our family together.
Not that funny but a true story.

You’re not crazy or far fetched! when was the last time you bought a half gallon of ice-cream from the supermarket? I can tell you, it’s been a LONG time since they’ve downsized, yet prices are the same or higher… hmmmm, conspiracy?
