The choices he makes do not have to be the choices you make. There comes a point in any relationship when the blinders come off. “That was fun… this is what I’m really like.” If you don’t like eating burgers and dogs all the time, let the dude know. He has two choices at that point: Accommodate, or find another lady.
As you get comfortable in a relationship you sometimes lose your own regiment to that of your partner. It’s all too easy to be a walrus and lay in bed together all freakin’ weekend. You must strive to keep your individually in tact and still maintain the connection that brought you together.
If you’re getting self-conscious, then it’s time to do something about it. This past spring I bought a scale for the first time in years… looked at it and saw a number I’d never seen before. It frightened me. Immediately I switched off beer to liquor, off soda to juice/water, and started exercising again. In one month I lost 15 pounds and felt great about it. Girls that were out of my league were hitting on me. Maybe it was the weight loss, maybe it was my confidence… either way it felt great.
… on the flipside, you say he works in construction, so if you do ever need a crane, you’ll know where to find one.
You’re tall, large-chested, and blond? You’ll be alright, just ask Kendra.
I think you’re a fine girl, Brandy. What a good wife you would be.
… but my life, love and my lady is the sea.
Do do-do do do, da do do-do do do…
