Leticia Remauro is the author of the novel, “Patric’s Saga” and “I’m Not Fat, I’m Just Big Boned and Other Lies We Tell Ourselves” – published by IUniverse.

The best part about Ms. Remauro being interviewed on the show, sponsoring, and being a published author?  The proceeds from the 1st and 2nd quarter of her book are being donated to Lifestyles For The Disabled located on Staten Island!

About the book:

When I first decided to write this book it was because I wanted to share my weight loss experience with others. I figured that if I could overcome a life long struggle with obesity then others could as well.  I compiled all my tips in one place hoping that after people read them they would understand that weight loss is an achievable goal.  The odd thing is, the more I wrote the more I realized that it wasn’t a diet program alone that helped me to lose weight – it was the fact that I had finally stopped lying to myself about why I was fat in the first place.

It wasn’t easy for me to admit that I was abusing myself or to recognize the reasons that I did, but that realization has changed my relationship with food and the people in my life.  I finally realized that if I wanted to get healthy I needed to stop lying to myself.

What you will read on these pages is my story.  The story of who I was and what it took to make me who I am today.  Some of the stories are funny; others less so, but all are true.  They are my stories and I hope that when you read them you will find something to inspire you toward a healthier lifestyle.

Whether you have ten or one hundred ten pounds to lose, the tips in this book can help you.  However, this is not a diet book.  It won’t give you the list of items you need to eat to lose weight.  It doesn’t promise a pain free way to fit into those great jeans or killer black dress.  What it will do is help you understand that you deserve to enjoy your life.  There is no reason to beat yourself up over past failures or even the fact that you need to lose weight now.  It will show you that no matter how big your past mistakes seem, they can be overcome as long as you believe in yourself.

I would like to say I had fun writing this book, but I can’t.  It was difficult for me to put myself out there for others to judge – especially since I am a quasi-public figure in my community.  What I will say is that I am happy that I wrote this book.  It helped me to face things that most people prefer to keep hidden.  We all have little lies that we tell ourselves to make us feel better.  Now mine are out in the open.   I hope that by reading about them you will be willing to face your own.
