Tuesday November 29th The Comedy Point is excited to be interviewing Comedian Patrick Dodd. Who doesn’t like to laugh, eat and sports? Patrick has created a website where he has intergrated them all in his blog: www.comedyfoodsports.com. SOUL Joel always enjoys discussing food! Tune in LIVE 5 to 8pm EST!
Standup comedian and writer Patrick Dodd has performed all across the east coast working with some of the best in the business (including Jim Florentine, Margaret Cho, Doug Benson, Colin Kane and more). He placed second in the Miami Improv Comedy Contest a few years back and soon after he became a regular feature and MC at the beloved Laughing Skull Lounge in Atlanta, GA. Patrick also created a charity comedy show formerly named “Comedy Fights Cancer” that was dubbed as “a great way for edgy or somewhat offensive comedians to do what they love for a good cause” by several promoters and comedians involved.
His style has been described as dry, edgy and borderline offensive. It’s all done with a smile on his face and a sarcastic tone that billows into the audience. He covers real life topics such as marriage and fatherhood and he never shies away from touchy subjects like pedophilia and race.
Patrick’s main concentration has recently moved to his blog “Comedy, Food, Sports” (www.comedyfoodsports.com). The blog involves Patrick interviewing comedians, chefs and sports related figures about his three favorite subjects. He’s been able to interview the likes of Nick DiPaolo, Dale Talde from Top Chef All-Stars, Jim Florentine, Robert Kelly, and many others. The immediate success of Comedy, Food, Sports has pushed Patrick to create a live “talk show” style version of the blog. The tentative date for the first show is first show is set for sometime in mid-January in Philadelphia (where Patrick resides), but he is still nailing down a location and firming up the guest list.
