NO MORE AIRTIME
Anyone notice the difference in the NBA Finals right now? Beside the fact that the Thunder are choking and the refs are turning a blind eye (with the good eye trained on the Heat) at the end of the game as usual. The reason the Heat are winning is because Dwayne Wade is being aggressive and as a result the Heat are becoming more and more dangerous. Couple that with the fact that Durant isn’t getting to the line as much as he should and the fact that Westbrook (besides last night because he played like a true baller, and put his team in position to win but no one else helped) and Harden’s play is well, Atrocious; and you get the results you have now which is having Miami leading the series 3-1.
Funny thing about this situation is even if Wade continues to play this way; LeBron will still win the MVP. How in the world do you give the MVP to someone who doesn’t have the mental fortitude to shoot the “Big Shot?” Wade is the guy on that team with ice in his veins; Wade is the guy who LeBron was hiding behind during the lockout; yet, Wade is the guy who no one has faith in because his numbers are down. Don’t get me wrong I am not a fan of Wade’s because he hits the floor more than dust/dirt, but he has that extra gear he goes into where he won’t LET anyone stop him, nevertheless everyone is falling all over LeBron. Yes, James’ numbers are great but look how many times he has the refs hold his hand so he can get to the free throw line. So far every team in the playoffs has attacked the Heat and hardly any of them have shot more free throws than them during a game. Last night Westbrook scored 40 plus points with about 24-30 of them coming INSIDE THE PAINT and he shot a (3) free throws! If Lebron scored that many points inside he would shoot AT LEAST 10-15 free throws.
So you mean to tell me every player on the Heat has a little Mutombo in them? Be serious! Just because they throw their body into people and yell and scream doesn’t make it a foul. Again just because you YELL doesn’t make it right (Stephen A. Smith)! Anyway, I blame this blatant favoritism on the refs and the commissioner because they don’t want anyone to beat the Heat (The so-called “Star- Powered” Team), but as Jeff Van Gundy always says, “It’s a make or miss league”. Now that statement has an underlying definition within it. What he means is if you don’t make your shots then the refs will become involved and if you make your shots you have an excellent chance of winning. We saw it in the 2010 NBA finals Boston (they missed their shots and lost) Vs L.A.; we saw it in last years NBA Finals when Dallas (they made their shots and won) defeated Miami; we saw it in this years Eastern Conference Finals Boston Vs Miami (They made their shots and won); and we also saw it in this years Western Conference Finals Oklahoma City (They made their shots and won) Vs San Antonio.
Yes, I got a little side tracked but this all comes back to Mr. James, the favorite son of the NBA. I don’t mind if someone is better than someone else at something but don’t take the opportunity of winning away from people who are working hard as well. The point of going up against the best is to get better AND win. However if you take away their opportunity of winning that creates animosity and not many folks think clearly when they are angry. I’m just tired of everyone falling all over this guys’ (LeBron) performance. This is the same guy that stated, “I knew I couldn’t defeat Boston myself so I decided to team up with these guys”. How do you admire someone like that? He is posing as a “competitor”. I just hope he understands that in order for his team to win Wade will have to take the clutch shots, PERIOD. I’m done talking about LeBron “The Hairline” James aka Biggest Head Band in the world. I will end it with this:

First, I respect your writing/blogging skills. With that being said, I cannot disagree with you more. The refs were bad, all playoffs, but to say they won this series is idiotic. It’s pretty obvious that you A. do not LIKE Lebron and B. are a bitter Boston fan. To discredit anything Lebron has done THIS season AND postseason is blatant ignorance for the greatness that we are witnessing. If Lebron hadn’t done what he has, wade wouldn’t even have had the chance to FINALLY come around in the finals and play, bc they wouldn’t have gotten past Indiana. Take Lebron off of this team and they are an 7-8 at best. To not give him respect for playing the way he has been is just wrong. He gave Cleveland 7 years, got into the playoffs EVERY year, and what did they give him? NOTHING. NO team has won with ONLY one player. Go back and research it. Now, if you say you don’t like how he went about it? Then fine. You got that. I’m not gonna get into the thousands of examples of total TEAMS winning, but he is an ALL AROUND player, that does multiple things, on BOTH sides of the court that needed help. Not just score, or take the last shot. He had a TRIPLE DOUBLE, and his TEAM was up 20 an he DOMINATED THESE FINALS and playoffs. And I think, to your point about the refs, he only shot double digit foul shots once in the finals. If I’m not mistaken, I saw the thunder have just about double the amount of foul shots in game 5. And they were being BLOWN out of the water. Put your personal feelings about the kid aside and appreciate what he has done, and what he is GOING to do
@ Deshields I am not a hater my man nor am I bitter. I respect his game no doubt but he gets TOO many calls. He didn’t have to go through all of things other players had to when they won (Jordan, Kobe, Pierce, Drexler etc) getting hammered. They treat that dude like a freakin ballerina. Don’t go in the lane if you gonna cry about being hit; aint nothing easy (especially in the playoffs) in there. I don’t want to discredit the things he has done but when you KNOW that you will get the call, and then you can be at ease. It was apparent in the Celtic series when the Heat were NOT getting the calls they LOSE, PERIOD. Like Rondo said, “While they are crying we are running.” They even made a part of their broadcast (several still pictures of James and Wade crying and the Celtics keep playing) during that match-up. That’s not to say the Heat shouldn’t have won (they made shots), but seriously it’s the timing of the calls they receive. Whenever a team seems like they are pulling away from them the refs jump in and when the Heat are a safe distance (7-10 points) away from the opposition then the other team gets calls. Great example. How in the world does Westbrook score 40 plus points with more than 60% of those points coming within the paint and only shoot (3) free throws? You know that’s some B.S., I know you do.
What they are doing to the NBA is WRONG and I expected YOU of all people to see that. People are blind to the fact of who the NBA wanted to win the title. I respect his game and defended him a lot BEFORE he got to Miami. He is a great player no doubt but seriously he doesn’t have that killer mentality and when it comes down to a final shot like I said, HE AINT GOT IT! I respect his game no doubt but I think I would take a Durant, Kobe, Wade, Paul, Pierce etc in the 4th quarter of a tight game.
Yes he put in his work in Cleveland and got nothing but look who they put around him. Instead of making secret handshakes he should have been requesting for other stars to get on the team. When you’re “The King” you have clout and now all of a sudden this dude is tough because he has other all-stars/decent players on his team. Guess you forgot what he said about Boston ‘I knew I couldn’t beat them by myself so I decided to team up with others to beat them’, you could have beat them plenty of times without anyone else but your heart pumps Kool-Aid in the 4th quarter at times.
Again I am not a hater nor do I dislike the guy, but the way he cries bothers the heck out of me. You are built like a mix of Jim Brown, Ray Lewis, and Darryl Dawkins. BE A MAN in the paint. I don’t normally take other peoples opinions into account but I know several people (8 to be exact) who aren’t even basketball fans (their likes range from Hockey, Computers, Video Games, Baseball, Hunting, etc) who I asked to watch a few games of the finals. You know what they said, “The Heat sure do get a lot of calls.” They aren’t even knowledgeable of the game and they could see it. When the naked/unknowing eye sees it, it’s a problem. Again I don’t like to take others opinions into account all of the time but when people who don’t even watch the sport all come to a consensus; it is clearly evident something is going on. I respect his game but I don’t respect what the NBA is trying to make him out to be. Not many people are respecting this championship and it aint because of “The Decision”.
