About Soul Joel
“Soul” Joel Richardson is the founder of Soul Joel Productions. His company has successfully produced weekly comedy shows throughout the Northeast featuring award winning headliners from Saturday Night Live, Comedy Central, HBO, Showtime, Sirius Satellite Radio, Cringe Humor, and Opie & Anthony.

Soul Joel built Laugh4Kids.com for kids ages 13 & up to give them a place where they can learn about comedy and experience a taste of the entertainment industry.
This site was inspired by Soul Joel’s experience as a guest speaker at a few local schools. For many of the students, it was the first time they had met a professional comedian, and they seemed to really enjoy his story, and the life lessons that he shared with them. The students’ response to Soul Joel’s talk was reinforced by the “Thank You,” cards he received. Soul Joel finds it very rewarding to work with the youth of America and hopes to speak to many more classes throughout the school year.
In addition to this site, Soul Joel Productions is currently working on developing educational programs geared towards kids ages 13 & and up including afternoon comedy shows that they can enjoy with their friends.

Soul Joel’s story is interesting in so many ways. He has not only made a career of his comedy, he has also made comedy his business. He has experienced many life lessons as he has built his career and has some great stories to tell.
Soul Joel has been invited by schools and colleges to share his experiences with students. Soul Joel’s message does not only revolve around laughter, he also teaches life lessons including goal setting, confidence, and public speaking which is perfect for young adults ages 13 & up.
Soul Joel would be honored to come and speak in any school. He makes a great guest speaker for any of the following events:

- Staff Development Days
He caters his message based on the age level and theme of the class, but the main topics include the following:
- Setting Goals: Creating 1, 3 and 5 year plans
- Dealing with the Public: How to Shake Hands, The Art of Public Speaking,
- Performing: Improvising and dealing with getting nervous
- How to be Funny: Clean comedy (no cursing), and not getting laughs at other people’s expense.
